Reconnecting to MU 1,500 miles away!
Congrats! The next move in your life has led you to Arizona with plenty of sun and plenty to do. Yet, when you feel the need to don the Black and Gold, and hear M.I.Z.-Z.O.U. ring in your ears, the local Alumni chapter is here for you. As a recent grad, I miss the game day experiences of Faurot Field and, while attending home Tiger games aren't an easy option, the next best thing is a Valley of the Sun (VOTS) watch party. Plus, if you still have the competitive edge, you can look forward to representing MU while taking on other Big 12 Alumni in the local softball tournament and other alumni competitions throughout the year. The connections you can make within our alumni group and with our Big 12 friends make it easy to find your niche in the fifth-largest U.S. city. We look forward to seeing you at our next event or board meeting!
-Josh Gilmore, Bachelor of Journalism 2008

With more than 1,600 University of Missouri alumni in the Phoenix metro area, our alumni chapter is a vibrant and enthusiastic crew. Check out our calendar of events (on the home page), browse our photo albums and look forward to fun activities such as:

• Mizzou football and basketball watch parties
• Big 12 softball tournament (usually held in April)
• Big 12 outings to Diamondbacks, Suns, and spring training games
• Volunteer opportunities at St. Vincent de Paul's community kitchen
• Happy hours

Funding the Future
Our chapter established an endowment in 2007. Once fully funded, this endowment will be a financial resource for the University, as well as provide us with the opportunity to award scholarships to local students attending the University of Missouri. For more information about applying for Valley of the Sun Mizzou scholarships, see our Students & Parents page. To make a donation, email our chapter president.

Committing to Quality Education
Our chapter also has a connection with Tertulia Charter School in inner-city Phoenix. Every spring a few of our alums take a group of Tertulia 6th graders out to Columbia to check out college life at our great alma mater. For many of these students, this is their first time outside the state of Arizona! This trip gives the students exposure to higher education and sets a college degree as an achievable goal. Read more about our relationship with Tertulia here.
